Brown Baptist Benevolence Guidelines
Please Read Before Proceeding
- Incomplete applications will not be processed
- Applications will be processed within 7-10 business days
- Requests are granted for clothing, rent/mortgage, or utilities
- Maximum payouts are $400 for members and $200 for non-members
- There will be a minimum of 2 years before the applicant can re-apply for benevolence upon approval
- All payments will be made directly to vendors (mortgage company, utility company, etc.)
- Permission for a background check is required
- Applicant must commit to financial counseling
- Failure to follow or comply with recommendations for financial counseling and/or coaching may make one ineligible for future consideration for assistance
- There will be no immediate payout
- No cash is kept on hand at the church
- All financial assistance must be reported to The Internal Revenue Service (IRS); therefore, a W9 must be completed prior to the payout
- A 1099 will be provided for tax purposes. You are required to report all financial assistance as income. Failure to report could result in additional penalties by the federal and state governments (see www.irs.gov or call 1-800-829-1040 for additional information)
Submission of an application does not guarantee assistance will be provided. Our ability to provide assistance depends upon:
- Applicants providing the information and documentation requested
- The personal evalutation of the indiviudal assigned to interview applicants
- Our available resources

- A Government Issued Photo ID
- If requesting assistance on a bill, a copy of the bill
- If you are requesting assistance with rent/mortgage payments, proof of payment history
